Hardy’s offshore platform
is about 18 kms offshore from the coast devastated by the
2004 Tsunami. Being in open seas the rig was not affected,
but the fishermen communities along the coast were battered.
In its aftermath, Hardy
is assisting local communities restore their livelihoods by
donating:
- Engine
diesel for 210 fishing boats in the village of Pazhayar,
Tamil Nadu.
- Fibreglass boats to a fishing
community in Nizampatnam, Andhra Pradesh, through Rotary
International
Hardy has also contributed
to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and the Chief Minister’s
Relief Fund, towards the monumental task of rehabilitation
and restoration of infrastructure.
